[from a contributor] Although this is an old book, it is one of the few theory books that guides the student to actually USE theory concepts creativily at the keyboard. Transposing, improvising accompaniments, harmonization, and creative work are used throughout the entire series. This is a worthwhile investment for any piano teacher's library; a wealth of ideas!

If you want to use a good, thorough theory book without the extra frills found in many elementary books, this is the one. I have found it to work well with Jr. High through Adult students. It is laid out very nicely, with review pages after each section.
